2026 Maintenance Technician

POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a Maintenance Technician you will be working alongside our Maintenance Team to ensure the lodge grounds and facilities are kept to the highest standard. We are looking for an individual with a keen eye for detail, and someone who takes pride in the work they do. We are an ‘off the grid’ lodge surrounded by beautiful grounds, and a large amount of beautiful snow! Mostly working outside, you will have the opportunity to learn new skills and be a part of an active, outdoors driven team.

You will be required to clean and maintain the Hot tub, wood fired sauna, as well as snow clearing, and undertake simple maintenance tasks around the lodge and hotel rooms. This role will sometimes be physically demanding, and will involve various tasks involving lifting, bending, twisting, turning and climbing. Carpentry, plumbing or electrical experience are assets, though not required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performing restoration duties to the building and equipment, including drywall repairs, painting, repair and maintenance of Hotel room and the surrounds and removal and replacement items
  • Maintaining guest rooms and common areas, including repair, light plumbing and light bulb replacements, as necessary Cleaning and inspecting pool and spa, including needs, water treatment
  • Performing custodial and outside grounds maintenance, including light gardening and landscaping (e.g. raking, weeding, lawn mowing etc.), garbage removal, cleaning and maintaining parking lots, as necessary
  • Completing routine check-ups on building equipment and maintaining accurate records of scheduled maintenance
  • Maintaining and performing service on our diesel generators that power our electrical grid
  • Occasional chainsaw work
  • Operating a skid steer for snow removal

Other general duties as required:

  • Including, but not limited to, manual labour, moving furniture, basic carpentry, faucet repairs and electrical duties

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years related work experience
  • Trade certificate or trades related courses considered an asset
  • Experience in hospitality considered an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Solution based thinking
  • Physically able to perform repetitive work, standing and walking for long periods of time and lifting and carrying heavy loads
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Starting Wage and Compensation:

  • $28-30 per hour
  • Hourly based share of Great Canadian Heli-Skiing Tip Pool during winter operation
  • Housing is a single room and shared washroom with up to 2 employees

Term: Full Time

Location: The lodge is located 45 minutes west of Golden, BC and 75 minutes east of Revelstoke, BC

Applicants must have the following characteristics and qualifications:

  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Can work effectively both independently and as a team member
  • Professional presentation in speaking, dress and grooming.
  • A passion for backcountry skiing and/or snowboarding.
  • Two professional references.
  • Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status or a Canadian visa/work permit valid for the entire duration of the season for which you are applying
  • Guides must have ACMG, CSGA or equivalent ski guiding certification.
