What should you expect when you go on a heli ski trip with us?
Check in day: Welcome! Check-in at Heather Mountain Lodge is 6pm the night before your first day of heli-skiing. If you arrive earlier, great! Make yourself at home, enjoy a drink in the lounge, or take a tour of our gorgeous historic property. After you unpack and settle in, join us in the lodge at 7pm for introductions and a delicious 3-course dinner. Be sure to bring your ski boots as your guides will be escorting you to the Ski Room afterwards. There you’ll get your skis set-up, choose equipment, weigh-in, and complete some administration. Then you’re free to enjoy some entertainment in the lounge.
6:30-7:30 am: guides rise early to go over snow conditions and make decisions on where you will be skiing. The SilverKing flight personnel prepare and inspect the helicopters.
7:30 am: Breakfast time! We offer a wide selection of nutritious, heartychoices to fill your tank before hitting the powder.
8:30am-10am (first day only): Everyone participates in a heli-briefing and companion search training. Light snacks are served in the Ski Room before you head out.
9 am: The first group lifts off from on-site helipad.
12:30 pm: Prepared by our HML chefs, hot soup and tea accompany your delicious picnic lunch out in the field.
4-4:30 pm: Take your final turns and return to the lodge. Note: Last runs in December and early January come in a bit sooner due to earlier dusk.
4:30-6 pm: Guides and pilots meet to discuss plans for tomorrow.
4:30 pm: Après-ski snack and drinks are served in the Ski Room.
5-7 pm: Free time, massage, relaxation, recounting your #BestDayEver
7 pm: Dinner — the other highlight of the day!
Before heading out on your final day of skiing, lease ensure you have all your things packed and set aside near the door of your room so housekeeping can store your luggage and prepare for arriving guests.
