Powder Dreams – Family style
The Browse Family December 28thSusan, Tim, Troy and Colin harken from New Jersey where hurricanes blow and rolling hills are full of maple trees and lakes. As a celebration for Tim’s 50th birthday they’ve waited three long years until their boys - 15 & 18 - were old enough to join them for a trip of a lifetime. Owners of a ski cabin back in Vermont, they get out skiing as much as they can. This Christmas, they were doing just that - skiing in Vermont in preparation for their Canadian adventure.
Group shot - Out in the POWDERGreat Canadian Heliskiing came on Tim’s radar when he started searching for a holiday with the family that would suit their needs. “I looked online to find a package that would work for a four day ski holiday. We wanted something that would fit together into our schedule to be back in time for school at the beginning of January. Great Canadian fit our needs,” Tim explains.
Lunch time with their guide Greg GolovachThe Browse family have never been heli skiing prior to coming to Canada. Their great adventure documenting this event will be just another take away memory for them. Heli prep, learning how to use a transceiver, getting the big fat skis on and hovering away in an exclusive aircraft and guide, the four skiers have set themselves up for a memorable experience. This will be one to write home about and will be talked about for years to come.
Mother and Son having some funThe days went by quickly, with many powder turns to be had by the whole family from sun up to sun down. Increasingly, the smiles got bigger as the sun got brighter. " I think all of us would like to stay longer yet it's time to get back to school after the holidays," Susan muses. As they were packing up, our team delivered terrain maps to the family - a great momento to reminisce about their time here. With a souvenir like that posted on their walls, the inspiration to get back here will motivate their sense of adventure.
Tim - seeking his next powder line.....As Tim packed up the last of his gear to head off down the road on the journey home, he said, "See you next year!"At Great Canadian Heliskiing and Heather Mountain Lodge, we KNOW our job is done here. Another family HOOKED!
