Toronto Family heli skiing[/caption] Over the past few days there has been a buzz going around the lodge of a great man that has brought his family heli-skiing with him as a winter holiday tradition. This gregarious individual has shared his passion for heli skiing with his adult children. This is the story of Stephen S.Stephen is one of those people that have a natural charisma about them and his joy for life is infectious. If you ever have the pleasure of meeting him, he will hold your ear with worldly conversations and he will ask you about yourself and what matters to you. With hard work and a natural flair for relationship building, Stephen who studied to be an engineer, worked his way up the corporate ladder into the position of being a CEO of a large mortgage lender. Stephen takes an interest in all of those around him, and his success has come from reaching out and forming great relationships with his clients, community, and of course his family.Stephen is an incredible family man and he knew that he wanted to bring his family together this Christmas season. He understood that it would be difficult to organize a time that would be convenient for each of his children and himself to leave their work lives and pursue fresh powder. Flexibility in scheduling was the reason that Stephen has visited us in the past and had chosen to visit us again. He knew that his family from Toronto could easily take a flight out of Pearson International Airport and fly into Calgary and they would be at the Lodge for dinner and skiing the very next day. He reiterated the fact that his family could start skiing any day of the week with us was a big reason for choosing us this year. His children had busy lives and hectic schedules, and to be able to accommodate their lives was of the utmost importance to him when choosing a heli skiing package. Now to be clear, Stephen goes out heli or cat skiing about 5-6 times a year which makes him essentially my hero when it comes to balancing work and play. The man has seen more mountains then most guides and for him to choose our services and trust our team to look after his family over the holidays is something we are truly grateful for. This humble man becomes the epicenter for excitement after he returns from a great ski day! He walks back from the helicopter with stories about his 2 sons, Patrick and Brendan, and his daughter Hilary. He shares that they came back from skiing a run where Hilary wore her GoPro as she followed behind doing a chase scene with her 2 brothers. It isn't clear if Stephen has given himself a pat on the back for being such a great father, but it is clear that he has enabled his children to keep youthful and to enjoy life by providing them with the chances to experience great activities and to be playful and active. When it comes to dinner time at the Lodge, he recounts the stories of his day on the slopes with a humble nature that a only a seasoned heli skier can possess. His excitement is obvious, but he is discerning about the snow conditions, and lucky for us, we have Champagne powder! At the end of the day, Stephen is known to sabre a champagne bottle to celebrate with the people that matter the most to him; his family.Stephen is an incredible individual, and we are thankful to have him as a guest and a part of our extended family of repeat skiers here at Great Canadian Heli Skiing. Thank you Stephen for showing the rest of us that Heli Skiing is all about sharing our joy for snow and life with others. Main reasons Stephen stays with us recapped:
- Convenience of flying into Calgary,
- Flexibility of dates
- Easiest to get to from Toronto.
- Dislikes 7 day trips, enjoys 4 days.
- "Trusts GCH's experienced Guides and operation with the safety of his family"
