Heliskiing Unlimited Vertical!
Hi everyone!
I just had to send out this quick newsletter as I couldn't contain the fact that I had an AWESOME day of heli-skiing a couple of days ago!! And since a lot of people ask us about the conditions, I thought I'd give you a first hand update.
It was soooooo good...I even had some faceshots!
The week before I went on a short road trip through a couple of resorts in Washington State on the way to check out the Olympics where a girl I taught to snowboard was competing for New Zealand! Tom from Tourism Golden (tourismgolden.com) accompanied me and we were both wishing there was more snow than sunshine out that way......though we still had a blast.
So when I went helicopter skiing a few days later at Great Canadian, I thought I had died and gone to a snowy heaven! The snow was great.... the snow report from one of the backcountry lodges said 7cm of new snow overnight, but with Head Guide Greg Golovach running the show, we actually were skiing areas with 20-30cm of fresh snow! I kid you not, check out the photos.

GG and his highly experienced team of guides definitely took us to the "goods". These guys and gals know their stuff......... all of our guiding team as been with us for years.....there is virtually no guiding staff turnover, which shows as they know our terrain so well and can always find some good snow. As owner Greg Porter said "Nothing will ever replace having the same guides year after year, building deeper and deeper knowledge pools". So true.
Are you a "fair weather skier"? Do you prefer sunshine over stormy days? Well, the past few weeks have been very sunny and we've done a lot of glacier skiing. Groups are getting a lot of runs in and often skiing until just after 4pm! So if this is the type of skiing you enjoy, check out our availability below.
Bookings remain very strong through the rest of the season.
If you were considering another date, please call us and we can see if we can get you in the heli!
So far the last group finishes skiing with us on Friday, April 2nd..........which is quite silly really as have soooo much snow still at that time of year. In fact, there are a lot of people who like that time of year best, due to the long warm hours of sunshine and nice corn snow. There's also been some monster powder dumps that happen at that time of year!
We have several people who are interested in skiing for several days arriving Saturday April 3rd, however we don't have quite enough people to make it viable. Speaking with many of you this winter I know there is definite interest out there for some April heli-skiing. Please drop us a line if you'd like to come out and ski with us in early April and we can make it become a reality.
Cheers,
Tim Wilkinson
