Great Canadian Heli-Skiing is fortunate to be located in the middle of British Columbia’s powder producing epicentre... or as we like to say, ‘epic-centre’! Because the region is blessed with so much snow, all types of ski operations have popped up. Within 30 minutes from the town of Golden, there are all sorts of world-class heli-skiing, cat-skiing, resort skiing, snowmobiling and backcountry lodge options.

In order to experience what this amazing region has to offer, we have created several combination packages that will let you see why our winter wonderland is a mecca for powder friends.

If you would like to get your ‘ski legs’ back before going heli-skiing, or just want to ski the biggest vertical in the Canadian Rockies region, make sure to check out Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. Haven’t heard of it? Well, think of skiing Jackson Hole with Canadian prices. The terrain and the scenery are awesome.

Another operation that is a MUST for any keen skier is Chatter Creek Cat-skiing. What is ‘cat-skiing’? It is like heli-skiing, but instead of using helicopters, they use ‘snowcats’... i.e. snow grooming machines that are capable of carrying groups of 12 people in a comfortable cabin on the back of the cat. Chatter Creek’s snow and terrain has become legendary, appearing in many ski and snowboard magazines and movies.

We thought it would be the ultimate powderhound’s dream trip to combine heli-skiing with the above operations. You can choose from a week long Kicking Horse / Great Canadian Heli-Skiing combo, or the most epic of trips, 9 days of skiing at Kicking Horse, Chatter Creek cat-skiing and heli-skiing at Great Canadian.

HORSES & HELI TOURS — A week long, all inclusive, combo package skiing Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and heli-skiing with Great Canadian.

All trips begin and end on a Saturday. First day of skiing is a Sunday. If you cannot arrive on Saturday, please contact us as we will try our best to accommodate you Rental car options available! Contact us for a quote. Single supplement is $ tba (High), $ tba (Mid) and $ tba (Low). For bookings that transport isn’t required, subtract $ tba/person or if Single Supplement, subtract $ tba.

Due to Great Canadian Heli-Skiing’s proximity to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and the town of Golden (55km), it seems a logical choice to combine both world class resort skiing with world class heli-skiing. All packages are based on 6 days of skiing split between resort skiing and heli-skiing.

HORSES & HELI Package Inclusions:

All packages are per person, start on a Saturday and are based on double occupancy and include:

Kicking Horse portion — All lift tickets. All accommodation at Copper Horse Lodge or the Vagabond Lodge (both are located next to each other and only about 100 steps from the Gondola). Also include are all breakfasts and if staying at the Vagabond, lunch is included too.
Heli-Skiing portion — Unlimited Vertical! Average of 5,800 metres (19,350 feet) vertical per day (while very strong groups can do up to 10,000m/33,000ft)! And remember because we offer Unlimited Vertical there are no extra skiing charges. Small groups of 4 people. Free use of rental skis/board (bring own boots) and avalanche transceiver. All meals and accommodation.
All transfers — to/from Calgary International Airport, Kicking Horse and to Great Canadian Heli-Skiing. Self-drive option available.
All Taxes — GST AND Hotel Taxes are included. Rates below are for domestic visitors. Rates for international guests will have the GST rebate applied for them (so 2.5% instead of 5%), so the rates will be slightly less.

Not included: lunch if staying at Copper Horse, dinners when staying at Copper Horse or Vagabond (Copper Horse has an awesome on-site restaurant), ski/board rental while at Kicking Horse (available from us at $35/day), tips, alcohol, extra services such as massage.

How ‘sick’ is this tour?! This is a ski bum’s dream trip... 3 days at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, 3 days cat-skiing at Chatter Creek and 3 days of heli-skiing at Great Canadian. Sooooo cool!

You can book similar trips individually at other places, however, we strongly believe the guest experience is so much better at our operations, plus we package it all together for you.

The Golden Dreams tour is a self-drive trip.

GOLDEN POWDER DREAMS Package Inclusions:

Kicking Horse Package — 3 days of lift tickets. 3 nights at Copper Horse Lodge or the Vagabond Lodge while skiing Kicking Horse (both are located next to each other and only about 100 steps from the Gondola). Also include are all breakfasts and if staying at the Vagabond, lunch is included too.
Note: start day and the number of days at KHMR can be extended or shortened to suit your schedule, though the cat-skiing portion will always start on a Tuesday evening and heli-skiing on a Saturday evening. The standard 3 day package at each operation works best starting on a Saturday and finishing on a Tuesday.
Cat-Skiing Package — Average 12,000 - 20,000 ft vertical per day! Only 1 group of 12 people per cat. Free use of rental skis/board (bring your own boots) and avalanche transceiver. All meals, double occupancy accommodation for 3 nights.
Heli-Skiing Package — Unlimited Vertical! Average of 5,800 metres (19,350 feet) vertical per day (while very strong groups can do up to 10,000m/33,000ft)! The cat-skiing and heli-skiing portion includes use of powder skis/board. Bring your own gear for the Kicking Horse portion or upgrade to High Performance skis/board for $35/day. Don’t forget to bring your own boots... and take them as carry-on luggage!

K H M R	With the equivalent vertical drop and challenging terrain as Jackson Hole, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort boasts 106 runs and 70 inbound chutes over 2750 acres, with terrain for all abilities. There’s also award-winning mountain top dining and a wide variety of winter activities. Ski Area: 2,750 acres Vertical: 1,260 metres (4,133 feet) Runs: 106 (including 70 in-bounds chutes) Terrain: 20% beginner, 20% intermediate, 45% advanced and 15% expert. Average Snowfall: 7 metres (275 inches) Highest Elevation: 2,450 metres (8,033 feet) Lowest Elevation: 1,190 metres (3,900 feet) Lifts: 5 including a high-speed gondola.
C H A T T E R C R E E K	Chatter Creek is one of Western Canada's largest and most spectacular cat-skiing and heli-skiing destinations! Chatter Creek's location enjoys a unique air mass, which produces some of the lightest, driest powder snow in the world. The varied terrain encompasses a mix of tree skiing, vast alpine bowls and spectacular glaciers. The views of the Rockies to the East and the Columbia and Clemenceau ice fields are unparalleled. At any one time, this vast area is shared by no more than 36 skiers and boarders plus their 6 guides. There are many places to cat ski but there is only one Chatter Creek! Ski Area: 238 sq2 kilometres (92 sq2 miles) or 58,000 acres. Over 50 kilometres of active snow roads. Vertical: Daily vertical 3,658 – 6,096 metres (12,000 - 20,000 ft). Each run can average 760 metres (2,500 ft). Runs: limitless Terrain: tree runs, old burns, wide open alpine areas and glacier skiing. 65% of the terrain is alpine and glacier skiing, 35% is tree skiing. Average Snowfall: 14 metres (550 inches or 46 feet) Highest Elevation: 3,000 metres (10,000 feet) Lowest Elevation: 1,500 metres (5,000 feet) Lifts: 3 snow-cats with only 1 group of 12 people per cat. 2 back-up cats on-site.
G C H	Great Canadian Heli-Skiing, the most accessible Canadian heli-skiing operation from an international airport, is located between Golden and Revelstoke BC in the heart of the world’s heli-skiing powder belt. GCH offers helicopter assisted guided skiing in the snow-choked mountains of the Purcell and Selkirk Ranges. In 1988, Great Canadian Heli-Skiing pioneered skiing in small groups of 4 and was the first to incorporate Unlimited Vertical in all packages. Ski Area: 437 sq2 kilometres (169 sq2 miles) or 108,191 acres (that’s equivalent to 13.4 Whistler-Blackcombs for a maximum of only 24 people!). Vertical: Average groups do 6,500 metres (21,450 feet), very strong groups can do 10,000 vertical metres (33,000ft) in a day. Each run can average 460 – 760 metres (1,500 - 2,500 feet). Runs: +150 named runs. Longest Run: "Cornice Glacier": ca. 1,800 metres (5,905 feet)! Terrain: All types of terrain – glaciers, open bowls, gladed trees. Average Snowfall: 14 metres (550 inches or 46 feet). Snowbase is usually over 3.5 metres (12 feet). Lodge Elevation: 1,030 metres (3,379 feet) Highest Peak in tenure: 3,251 metres (10,666 feet) Highest Drop-off: 2,970 metres (9,744 feet) Lowest Elevation: 834 metres (2,736 feet) Down Days: During winters 08/09 and 07/08 there were NO down days! In 06/07 there were only 2! Lifts: 2 A-Star helicopters, the best in the business. Small groups of 4 people, with a max of 3 groups operating from 1 helicopter.
