What Makes A Best Day Ever ?

Posted by & filed under Uncategorized.

Our style of heli skiing is famous for small groups and unlimited vertical. Those two factors have put us on the map for offering one of the best heli-skiing experiences in the world, but besides skiing astronomical amounts of vertical, and keeping pace within your small group… what else makes us special?

We’ve realized there’s a common occurrence that happens to our guests during their holiday.  Just like there are many ways to describe snow, there are many ways that guests describe having their Best Day Ever with us.  “That was the best run of my life!”, or “I’ve NEVER had a day like that!” and the less coherent “Yaaahoooooooooo!!!” going all the way down a run that doesn’t even need to be put into words.  It’s a feeling all of us can relate to.

So we’ve compiled a look at what that is for our guests, guides, staff and so many that have joined us over the years.  Keep checking in on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts for lots of current #gchbestdayever posts and if you are wanting to get in on that yourself, contact us today!

Great Canadian Gears Up – A Sneak Peak of Opening A Heli Ski Lodge

Posted by & filed under Uncategorized.

There’s no magic formula for opening a heli ski lodge for the season.  It changes each year with new staff, conditions and a multitude of other factors which luckily, we have had 30 years of practice with.  Opening the lodge for the 2018 season was no exception.  Our team worked like a well oiled machine to prep for what we are best known for, small group heli skiing with utmost attention to detail.

Here’s a look at what we got up to.

We Brought a Three Year Old Heli-Skiing.. Why That Matters

Posted by & filed under Uncategorized.

When we had the chance to give a young tot of three years his first heli-skiing experience, you’re probably not surprised to hear that we had to say YES.

You see there is a certain attitude that Dave Treadway has with parenting that we just can’t help but love.  Some might see heli skiing as a risky move at such a young age, but for Dave and his son Kasper, “I was more comfortable in this environment then crossing a street in the city with him”.

There is a great joy in sharing these passions with not just friends, but family too, and we love seeing the new generation coming out with their parents. This can also lead to some pretty significant moments for parents, like when previous guest Peter brought his son Blake heli-skiing for the first time.  “Nobody else in my family can understand this.  The first time I took Blake heli-skiing he was an intermediate snowboarder with no powder experience. It was not an easy first experience, [but here we are again]. You’re creating memories.  Unbelievable memories.”

Our operation has always been family friendly, and guest safety is #1 with a record to back that up, so you are in safe hands.  The spirit of the #gchbestdayever is alive and well, no matter your age.  See for yourself:
